This week I completed Simple and Sinister training on Monday (24-kg bell for swings, 20-kg bell for get-ups), some gymnastics prep training on Tuesday, and today I mixed gymnastics prep training with S&S swings and get-ups. I was feeling strong while completing one-handed swings with a 24-kg bell and decided to test a pair of get-ups with the 24-kg bell. Just a few weeks ago I was working hard to manage 5 pair of get-ups with the 20-kg bell. Today I performed a get-up on each side with the 53-pound bell and it felt like the 20-kg bell did… until I was locking out overhead. I decided to accept my new personal record and drop back to the 20-kg bell to complete 4 more pairs, but I am really excited about managing the heavier bell today. I seem to be making progress faster than I did last time I focused on Simple and Sinister training for an extended period. What is different now is that I am working on one-handed swings exclusively and maintaining better technique in everything I do. I had been doubtful that I could work up to the 32-kg bell by the end of 2016, but now I think I am going to get there.
