I stayed too sick to train for 10 days in a row – 19 to 29 May. I had what might be the worst case of sinusitis ever.

I came back to training easy on 30 May with 2 minutes of crawling, 10 get-ups with a 20-kg bell, 100 two-handed swings with a 32-kg bell, and 20 pull-ups. I had not lost strength, but my conditioning had faded.

On 31 May, I completed a fairly hard workout – 4 minutes of crawling, 10 get-ups with a 20-kg bell, 6 x 3 complexes of double cleans, presses, front squats with a pair of 16-kg bells, 40 two-handed swings with a 32-kg bell, and 10 pull-ups.

On 1 June, I completed 4 minutes of crawling, 10 get-ups with a 20-kg bell, 40 one-handed swings with a 32-kg bell, 10 two-handed swings with a 32-kg bell, and 10 pull-ups.

For the next 4 days I was too busy (2 days) or lazy (2 days) to train at all. Bringing our new Golden retriever puppy home on 2 June had something to do with it.

On 6 June, I completed 3 minutes of crawling, 10 get-ups with a 20-kg bell, 5 x 3 complexes of double cleans, presses, front squats with a pair of 16-kg bells, and 10 pull-ups. I felt great, but needed to eat breakfast and complete some work at my desk, so took a break. An hour later my back was hurting. I started to warm-up by crawling a 50-foot segment, but when the pain did not improve, I called it a day. A one-hour massage later in the day helped, but I still felt a twinge.

On 7 June, I walked my dog around the block once and then spent about an hour on my gymnastics mat watching television and performing Original Strength resets. About 30 minutes of the time was active and 30 minutes passive. My back still felt off.

On 8 June, I completed about 4 minutes of crawling, 10 get-ups with a 20-kg bell, 1 x 3 complexes of double cleans, presses, front squats with a pair of 16-kg bells, and 2 pull-ups. My back felt wrong, so I completed 150 skips with a jump rope and called it a day.

On both 9 June and 10 June, I completed about 4 minutes of crawling, 10 get-ups with a 20-kg bell, 4 x 10 one-handed swings with a 16-kg bell and 20 x 10 one-handed swings with a 20-kg bell. I could feel a hint of my back being off on 9 June, but on 10 June my back felt fine.

While performing swings with the 20-kg bell, I could feel/hear a clicking sound in my head during about a third of the time. I wondered if my teeth were coming loose from my jaw. I suspect that things are still unsettled from the sinusitis. I have a follow-up appointment with an ENT doctor on 14 June and hope he can offer an explanation.
