Today was snatch day in my loose following of the StrongFirst SFG Kettlebell Certification Prep Guide.

Warmup:

Face-the-wall squats – 20 reps
Windmill stretch – 20 reps

Workout:

Two-handed deadlifts
32 kg kettlebell – 8 x 5 = 40 reps, 2800 pounds

Snatch
12 kg kettlebell
As many snatches as possible in 15 minutes
184 reps = 4784 pounds

Weight: 7584 pounds

Bonus workout:

Chin-ups – 5 x 1 = 5 reps

Incline push-ups – 1 x 25 = 25 reps

Kettlebell deadlifts are not especially demanding compared to bodyweight x X deadlifts with a barbell, so I completed 40 with my heaviest bell. I felt the 20 reps I did on Monday. I expect to feel the 40 reps I did today on Wednesday. I did 5 snatches with my left hand and then 5 snatches with my right hand repeatedly until completing 50. Then I toweled off, drank some water, and went to work on another 50. After the first 100, I started taking a short break after 20 snatches, either toweling off, drinking water, or just walking around for a minute. When I got to 150, I started resting a bit after 10 snatches. I believe the 128 snatches I completed on 10 August was my record for snatches in a day until reaching 184 today. My grip, mechanics, and endurance was good so I am guessing I can do more the next time I snatch for 15 minutes. The one difficulty I faced was pinching the calluses on my hands as I snatched, but I may be able to minimize that with some maintenance work on my hands.
