I have been training Monday through Friday every week for weeks now. I thought it would be difficult when I started, but there have not been any challenges since I started.

I completed my third week following the Simple and Sinister template from Pavel Tsatsouline’s new book. I made a few changes from last week. I did my first get-up on each side Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with the 16 kg bell. I think trying to do more than two would be dangerous at this point, so I shifted back to the 12 kg bell for the last four on each side. I expect to continue this pattern next week too. The other adjustment was doing two-handed swings exclusively on Thursday. My back felt a little tweaked in bed Wednesday night, so I omitted one-handed swings for a day to make more room for recovery. I went back to one-handed swings on Friday without incident.

My current S&S program

Prying goblet squats
16 kg kettlebell – 3 x 5 = 15 reps, 525 pounds

Goblet squat curls
16 kg kettlebell –3 x 5 = 15 reps, 525 pounds

Strongfirst Hip Bridge – 3 x 5 = 15 reps

Halos: 16 kg kettlebell – 3 x 10 = 30 reps, 1050 pounds

Two-handed swings
24 kg kettlebell – 5 x 10 = 50 reps, 2600 pounds

One-handed swings
24 kg kettlebell – 5 x 5 L/R = 50 reps, 2600 pounds

Get-ups
12 kg kettlebell – 5 x 1 L/R = 10 reps, 260 pounds

Total weight: 7560 pounds

I kept getting faster as they week progressed. Most days I finished everything in 28 minutes. On Friday, I may have lost count during get-ups. The timer was at 24 minutes after completing what I thought was 5 on each side. I couldn’t imagine that I was moving that fast, so I did another get-up on each side and finished in 26 minutes.

I am pretty sure I added a few two-handed swings with miscounts. My habit is, when in doubt, do another one.
